Still hope son!

Well after the last few days crushing me, I took a break.. from hold em. I took a measly 2 dollars into the 4/8 cent limit stud hi low games and over the last 2 nights turned it into over 30 dollars, which well at a 4/8 cent limit game is just crazy. I am having so much more fun playing this game, maybe I was just bored of holdem... that or getting my money in a 90% favorite every time and losing, regardless this game really shows the better player has a huge edge, and I'm gonna play alot more of it for sure... and I don't think I'm just running hot when I show a A 2 5 6 7 low and also win a 4 way pot with ace high.... more updates soon.

Break

Well I guess its time for a break hahah, the downswing has not left yet. After yesterday, today was even worse. I complete in the small blind and this guy was min raising every time out of the BB. I flat call and flop big, but...

Crushed

I once again go down, sucks cause that was a huge pot for 5/10 cent haha, and the other guy with two pair had alot of the full house outs covered.. didn't stop those lovely diamonds.

A few hours later this hand came up at 10/25 cent that pretty much sealed the deal, I mean the guy couldnt of played the hand worst and let me get lucky, but like that matters against me heh.

2 outtta here!

The roll is pretty much crushed, I think I'm gonna stick to the live games and build up some more and maybe put a few hundred on and play some stud hi low in the coming months, less swings and I need a break from hold em... but thats obvious. Ill keep ya posted.

day 3

Well today has been straight up frustrating, lost my first 2 10 dollar buy ins to hands like these...

One out

6%

But hey what can you do I guess. I pretty much broke even today by getting 2 back to back finishes in 2 18 person turbos, using the system, which I will reveal later. I was pretty much slaughtering the 2nd one when this hand came up.

Cooler?

When she raised I thought the call with the 2 9s was fine. When the flop came with the open ender straight flush, I decided if she bet I just going to push, because pretty much only hand she could call with is the ooops yea well that exact hand, but I had her covered 4 to 1 so I'm not mad with the play at all them wham! I haven't hit a card like that in a llloooong time. I was massive chip leader, then heads up I was about 2 to 1 chip leader when I flopped top pair with 10 9 on a 10 7 3 board, I bet out big and got called, turn was a 9 and I pushed and get called by ace 3? And yea he hit the ace on the river and told me he knew he was behind but didn't care because he cashed haha, but ah well. So today kinda sucked but I salvaged it, I having pretty good patience despite the low stakes and a few bad hands, will have more tomorrow, I'm at around 80.

Day 2

Well I got off to a bad start by losing two buy ins pretty quick. One hand I raised with the 9 10 of hearts and got re raised by the big blind who had the 7 8 of hearts. I called the flop came 9 10 2 rainbow and he pushes and I made the call and he hit a 6 right on the turn. I was hoping he had a big pair but I guess he caught a good flop for trying to make a play on me... but it happens. After that I played in a 5 dollar sit and go and took it down haha, so that put me up about 10 for the day after the first 10 I lost, Then I played some 10/25 cent short handed and made a decent 15 dollar win. Nothing really exciting to mention about last night, no real big or interesting hands, I mainly picked up alot of big pairs and with raises in front of me I just raised the pot and everyone folded most the time and I probably made about 12 bucks in the hour I played at the table just playing straight forward. Ok I made one suicide play where I flopped top 2 pair on a all spade board, and a guy check raised me on the flop and I flat called. The turn came another spade and I just pushed in on him, which may be argued a good play against a good player but at low stakes its insane haha, anyways the guy folded and said he folded a 10 high flush, with the king queen of spades out there... I told him he made a sick fold. I tried playing a little 25/50 cent limit but I still cant handle anything that low for short handed fixed limit games, but I'm also not the best limit player.

Ive decided when I do make the 1000, Im going to buy a decent plasma screen with it, somewhere around 40+ cause I am going to buy one anyways, so now I got extra incentive. So yea not to much to report haha, but yea thats the news, Im sitting at about $88 from the original 10.

Day 1

Well I got the 10 dollars as planned and started grinding it out. I played a 5 dollar sit and go right off the bat haha (bad idea) and lost 5. Then I entered a turbo horse 2 table tournament and put the other 4 dollars in a 5/10 cent cash game table. I came 3rd in the horse tournament, I am pretty sure people had no idea how to play half the games, then it was confirmed after I took down a huge pot in Razz and a guy said "oops wrong game"... yes I still didnt win haha. So I was back up to 10 playing 2 tables of 5/10 cent with 5 on each. After about a hour or so I was up to 10 on one and down to 2 on the other so I stuck to the one table for the rest of the night.

3 key hands gave me a good win for the night, and instead of typing them, I found this website that animates hand historys that alot of people know about, so it will be easier to watch. It doesnt show bets less then a dollar so you kinda gotta guess sometimes. I dropped down when I flopped a set against a set of aces, and pretty much was up to about 20 for about 2 hours, which isnt bad , 4 times my buy in. After sitting at 20 for that time this hand came up. I raised 6 times the blind to just take the 6 limpers money, figuring no one will call... but when they call called I was choked until I flopped the nuts flush.

Flush

So after that hand I was sitting on 30... which isnt alot but considering the blinds thats a pretty big win for 5/10 cent haha. About 20 minutes later this hand came up. If I am playing better players I never limp under the gun with small pairs, but the implied odds of flopping a set on these type of players is just so good, as this hand sums up. I flop a set of 6s and bet it, and this rock, who never ever raised without pretty much the nuts just pushed. This guy could flat call with top 2 pair, and when he had better would only min raise so I was sure I was dead... not sure why I called but it didnt make sense.

Set

So that put me up to about 40 or so, and I am thinking I should quit but go on to win a few more hands, and ran a big bluff against a guy when I called his bet on the flop with 8 high to raise him all in when the flush card came. About a half hour later I get those 6s again and the 2nd biggest stack at the table raises...

Set 2

Pretty much as soon as he over bet the pot I knew he didnt have a set of 10s and I had him. After that hand I called it a night, and was sitting around 64 dollars from the original 10, thats...6.4 % there! Haha Ill keep ya posted...

The start

Well I always wanted to kinda make a poker blog, but most of them are lame and I don't go off winning millions so I never bothered. I have half supported myself playing poker the last 6 months or so, but the last 2 months I have been running so bad Ive gotten frustrated like a lot of people do. I don't need to make another bad beat rant, but after trying everything from dropping down in stakes to switching games, and taking a few breaks from online, I seemed to be a consistent winner live but and running just dead online. I have had my share of wins online in the past, but these last 2 months I have just been running into a lot of coolers and suckouts....

And honestly lost alot of confidence not being able to win consistent in the smallest of stakes. But in the end I guess you gotta run bad to become a decent player so I'm not to worried. Alright well this is turning into a emo journal so ill get to the point. I have been playing a lot of play money sit and goes for fun with my friends, and tested out a lot of stuff. Last week we played a 500 play chip tourny, and we used our "system" haha which I will speak about later. Anyways with 2200 entry's, our system got him to 13th, and I ended up coming 2nd.

I ended up making 150 k in play chips haha, and I always said I wanted to become a millionaire in play money, but i never had the patience to actually do it. Well i sat down, taking a break from the real cash games and made myself do it. I always heard of people actually buying play money, and I said well I'm gonna make a million, sell it and I'm gonna turn that money into a grand, ala what Chris Ferguson did with turning 1 dollar into 10000. I have recently made the million, and sold it for 10.50 cents American, and this blog is to track my progress with he 10 dollars. I mean I could just easily put money on and grind but I need a break from playing just to make money and trying this goal... even though its the same thing haha.

Anyways ill have a update tomorrow with how the 10 dollars went.
